Evolution. Expansion. Change. The process happens to everyone whether you intend it or not. How can you avoid it really, when your daily experience adds ‘more to you’?
In my mind, it’s the most beautiful thing and I define beauty as the divine pull towards a fleeting state. I love being in it, I love being a catalyst for it and I am the most joyous when my actions are all about being different than I was before. When we start something new or different, most of us feel anxious. We might find ourselves getting stuck on, how much of a leap should we take? Or how much planning we should do? Should we start small or should we dream up the biggest and highest possible goal we can think of now. Whether you want to evolve on a personal level or professional, we all have stood at this crossroad. You know you’d love to do certain things but pull yourself back as you evaluate how much you are capable of. 'Last week, on our road trip, I had to drive on the freeway with a speed limit of 65mph. So far I have been driving in a state which has 55mph as limit, in most areas. And even with that, I drive mostly in the city, which would mean a limit of 30mph.I have been driving since I was 18 but this time around, driving in a new country was throwing me off. My husband said to me, “Remember, the fear is a state of mind and not reflective of your skill.” And really, it was irrational, I have driven on highways in other countries. I trusted my instincts and my skills. So, I drove and once I did, it came to me. The bigger aha! moment was when we drove back to our state, 55mph didn’t feel like a big deal anymore and for the first time here, I relaxed and enjoyed my drive. This happened with my writing as well. Way back, I started with 100 words with difficulty. Now I can write 500 words with ease. So what’s next? I am writing a 15-20 page self-help document. It’s the biggest thing I have done and it’s exciting!' It got me thinking, why won’t we try this with our goals? With practicing new skills? Every time we allow and go beyond, we become more skilled and at ease with what we know. I guess that’s the thing with allowing yourself to move out of your comfort zone, you explore new possibilities, test your limits, learn new skills and gather life’s experiences. When was the last time you moved out of your comfort zone to follow your dreams? Do you know what you have to do but find yourself holding back? Ask yourself, why are you doing that? What’s your biggest fear? Most fears are irrational. What you might need is an outside in perspective of the situation. Evolution. Expansion. Change. Beautiful words enabling a beautiful life.
