This is a popular technique that is suggested by a lot of people, using different variations and calling it different names... I call it Proof Listing. It’s an exercise that I use often and also have my clients practice. It’s simple, easy and can be applied to any situation or goal. And it works every single time to move you forward and lift your vibration! It’s a Wishlist but in reverse. If a Wishlist is a list of desired things or events that you hope for; then the Proof List is collecting evidence of the fact that you already live it. Here’s how this is done:
It’s a kicka$$ vibe lifter. It allows you to see that you already ARE a lot of what you think you want to BE. You already HAVE (in some shape or form) a lot of what you think you NEED. With this exercise, you become aware that you have more aspects of your life that are a match to the larger vision you have for yourself. For example; I wrote about how I Proof Listed my anxiety about if I was a successful person. When I made a list of what success would look like to me, I realized there were large parts of the list that I had already manifested.. But when I thought about me being successful I didn’t consider those small wins over a period of time as me already being a success. Why did I do that...? Because those wins weren't the obvious, loud ‘call outs’ that I was looking for at a superficial level and as a result, I completely ignored those aspects of my life. As I Proof Listed my success, I felt an immense sense of joy and relief that I was already living a successful life. You could Proof List pretty much anything; relationships, romances, kids, life, support, talent… It can sometimes be a challenge to make a Proof List for difficult situations or events we have a lot invested in. But if that happens to be the case for you, it’s SO worth getting help to Proof List those very situations. The more we Proof List, the more that Wishlist comes true. True Story! I wonder what your experience has been using a similar technique? You could share your story here, it might benefit someone else and I'd LOVE to hear from fellow creators... Sharing is good for you! In today's world how do you measure success? Success and feeling successful looks different to different people. Its difficult to state what a successful life should look like. Having said that, there are certain indicators that you are living prosperous and successful life already. This list is part of the journal entry I had made in 2004 in an attempt to 'Show Proof' to myself that I am already living my version of a successful life. (You can read about the Proof List exercise here!)
Are these definitive measures, maybe not, the list will change depending on what success means to you. But they are a good indication that you are living a fulfilled, holistic life. Have you a Proof List? I'd love to hear what are things that make your list. Leave a comment here or on Facebook to share your story. As always love and sprinkles of joy! A stressful situation is caused when we live an experience that we are unprepared for, unhappy about or when we don't have the tools and resources to cope. Building self coping methods and creating new experiences can take time and we need to engage those practices continuously to draw into our life a different reality . This blog however is about immediate relief. Before you start to introspect and build different habits, you need to reduce the energy impact of the current situation on your mental and emotional balance. Here is a reminder of 3 simple things to do for immediate relief:
Here are a few things to absolutely avoid while in a stressed state of mind:
As you can tell, there is a theme here... The key is to first bring your energy down and away from anything that causes you to feel anger, frustration, panic, helplessness or scared. How quickly you are able to calm down and bring yourself to a neutral place will determine your success in dealing with stressful situations. Yay! for easy vibration management! And for social media sharing, please...! Love! We draw unto us what we create with our thoughts. We are capable of using emotions to alter our realities. Our intuition is guidance by our soul, the divine connection to Universal energy. Yup, Yup, and sounds about right… The Ground Zero, however, for all this magic is the body, the physical form chosen by the soul to experience and expand. The body is on the front lines of all the action and is the first tool of translation for the soul. Yet we sometimes put less thought into the maintenance and care of the body then we do the mind. A healthy, stable, functioning body is an absolute must if we are to play on this platform of energy and creation. A healthy body is strong and is in harmony with nature. Without this vehicle in peace and balance, we find it difficult to move forward. I mean, if you have ever tried to run your business, or work, visualize, take care of your children, write your book or compete in anything, when you were running a temperature or had a cold, then you’ll know what I am talking about. If you want to be of service, contribute your best, follow your passion, live your purpose, you need to deliberately maintain the physical form. Incidentally, the physical form is also the dimension that experiences the least lag time between Cause and Effect. Unlike the creating of new realities with preferences; which have larger lag time between Asking (Cause) and Allowing (Effect). Our body will instantly feel the impact of changes from our immediate environment. It is also the platform for all the energy changes we intend from our new realities. To sum it up, not only do our bodies need to be healthy for us to use energy to create reality but are also the first to undergo the strain of change as we create new realities. That puts the care of the physical form pretty high in my book! At present my family and I are living through a few very difficult situations at home (when it rains, its pours kind of scenario). In this case, I am the casualty and not the persons going through the event. So I won’t expand on the issues because it’s not my story to tell but it impacts me greatly, on a mental and emotional level. To say it’s challenging, is me conforming for the sake of public consumption. So, what is one of the first things I did as all this unfolded over the past few weeks? I took special care to incorporate these daily (much as I could):
Because I know, if I physically fall sick, I won’t be able to put in the mental and emotional work that I need to. Now more than ever I not only need to maintain my identity, as one of love and source but my emotional and spiritual balance as well. Without it, I would be lost and would be of no value to the people that really need the support When you have chaos, pain, and deep traumas that flow to you, the first to receive such energy vibrations is the body. And while we immediately work on the meta and solutions to the issue or activate vibrations of love and compassion to balance our mind, we should put deliberate thought into maintaining the health of the body through this time of stress. So if you are dealing with an issue, are stressed, in pain, or experiencing whatever level of trauma; ask yourself these questions and re-evaluate if need be:
And while you are at it, do send some good vibes, love, and wisdom my way! Big Love. PS: Don't forget to Share! Social Media Love! In a recent guest podcast, a colleague and I discussed the Role of Women At Home. Women’s empowerment is a topic I am very passionate about because growing up I didn’t think I had any and that belief continued till my mid 20's. I didn’t think my thoughts mattered and that I had anything of value to contribute. Like most girls I grew up with, we had a role to play and there were specific lanes and expected behaviors laid out for us. This messaging was given to me at home, school and the society at large (I saw it in the movies, soaps, and advertising). So when I was asked to guest speak on this very important topic, I knew I HAD to address the role of women at home and the influence they actually had in molding the society, even if they didn't think it. The home is the most personal of spaces for everyone, especially for women who can completely be themselves and don’t have to continue playing out specific behaviors. At least that’s what a home should be, space where you can shine in all your glory without prejudice. Isn't it? Growing up I was taken care of entirely by women; from my mother and stay at home grandmother, to the ‘all girls’ boarding school, that had all female staff and helpers and was a convent run by nuns. But the most impressionable lessons were the ones reinforced at home. I have had very strong women that influenced me and set my behaviors. So you’d think I’d have it all figured out. Well... kind of. I did, however, make observations then that serve me now to know my preferences... In my experience, what was allowed, what was accepted or what was expected came down to how malleable the women were in each position. Today I recognize this as the biggest lesson in empowerment and I think I was 14 when I first began to really notice this. (It would be another decade before I took steps to further this understanding and make something of it.) The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any. – Alice Walker, American author, poet and activist. That’s really my only point with the podcast or with this post.
There are whole generations of women that have to re-learn the power and influence they have in creating reality. And that starts with what we allow, accept and expect at home, our very intimate and person space. As a daughter, sibling, wife, mother, aunt, niece, grandmother... We all want the world to accept and empower women and want all violence of any kind towards women to stop. Even as the work continues in the world outside, every woman needs to start that change at home. First off, our practice at home realigns our thoughts and we draw into our reality the experiences we want to have. The world literally shows up based on the thoughts and feelings we have inside. We can learn the techniques to create and re-shape. And having that feminine energy gives us a uniquely stronger wiring for spiritual connection to tap into. Secondly, our practice begins to set behaviors and expectations of the people that live with us. They see and learn these behaviors and when they go out into the world, they replicate what they’ve learned at home (just as I did growing up). My hope with the podcast and this article is for women to realize that we create our realities with our thoughts. That we are energy based consciousness and that we have the power to choose and allow whatever experiences we’d like. We are more powerful than we currently realize but that it can be changed by looking for people and tools that support such a change. You can listen to the complete podcast here. Feeling Big Love for all of you! I am a big fan of simplicity. From the preferences for solid colors to the limited decor in my home, the cooking style to the mostly T-shirt wardrobe, the preferred spiritual practices to the small list of technology and apps I use.
I love basic, simple tools and things that are easy and sustainable and deliver what is needed of them. In my 20's it was not so. But somewhere I lost the will to carry the weight of the complex tools and things and I find myself feeling freer because of it. Now the only thing I'd like to see 'complex' in, is my poems, stories and it's characters and the wine. I still love that challenge! In that spirit, I give you simple tools; one each for the Body, Mind, and Soul. For the Body - I have created The Food Addiction Support Group (private) on Facebook. This is another complimentary space to support people who, like me, have food dependency issues. If you'd like to join, simply shoot an email and we can connect. For the Mind - I wrote an article to simplify the concept of Chakras. I was ecstatic when it was published in The Elephant Journal. I have been considering writing more of these in an effort to have such ideas and philosophies written in relatable terms. For the Soul - I had the privilege to record a podcast with a colleague. Our conversation was about The Role of Women at Home as it relates to the modern society. In it, we talk about going back to basics, the home, the most personal space for every woman. A place where you relax, feel secure and can be loved unconditionally. It ends with two simple tools that can be used to take that power back and make the shift to becoming ALL that they are meant to be. You can listen to the podcast here. There are other cool podcasts as well, all dedicated to women. Hope you enjoy the article and the podcast. For anyone thinking of the Food Addiction / Dependency group, I look forward to our exchange on email. I am truly grateful that you pay attention to this space. Keep the comments coming on social media! Big Love, Ruby |
