Happy pictures, busy lives and check in's. That's the life we know. Constant doing and then out doing.
There is perception that things need to be done quickly to be considered efficient. And we need to constantly be doing the next big thing to be considered successful. Where are we heading? Why the rush to get there? And is there ever a final destination? Me? I like the attraction of slow. The joy of now. The hopefulness of dreaming of opportunities. I speak about 'Inspired Action' a lot, in fact, its the tagline for the coaching services. Like many of you, I have tried the 'rush to do things' and 'complete as much as possible, now'. It always leaves me drained of energy, dissatisfied and unfulfilled. I mean, what was the point? There were days when I hadn't stopped all day but had nothing to show for. And it's always because I was 'doing' something outside of my inspiration. I didn't understand the need for the action or felt connected to it. So how DO you know 'Inspired Action' ? Here's a small list:
There is no turning back. You'll then look to find it, in everything you do. There is nothing to beat the experience of being aligned and in the zone. Have you worked with Inspired Action? When was the last time you felt connected to what you were doing?

In an age where good social media presence is a key to business success, there is a rush to create a huge list of followers and subscribers.
Yes, I have read about the importance of building that number and how mathematically it converts into steady income for your product. This month I have had 20 odd people unsubscribe from my newsletter. I have to admit, when I first looked at my weekly campaign analysis, my reaction was to feel sad. 'Why? Why did they leave? Isn't what I to write about, provide value? Oh my! the total subscriber number is below 700!' Shouldn't the number be going up? Am I not supposed be good enough to keep the subscriber interested? Admittedly, it took me all of 4 days to have this every simple A-ha! moment. And this is how I re-wrote this whole experience (*Scripting is a technique LOA coaches use a lot) 'Yes I do want more people to subscribe. I do want to build my tribe and I do want to engage and add value to a growing number. I am refining my list and when people unsubscribe, it's a good thing for me. It only means that I can continue to write from my heart, to the people that share my values and beliefs. I don't need to pretend for the sake of the audience. And that's a tremendous weight off my shoulders' As simple as it is, hope this serves as a reminder for you too. The more you surround yourself with people that are with you by choice, the better it will be for you to be your authentic self. Take it a step further, look at your subscriptions on email, you tube, twitter or any other social media platform. Unsubscribe from the ones that don't serve you anymore. Its a whole lot of clutter that you don't need in your life. For an online business, an unsubscribe notice can be just as cool as a notice of subscription! Scripting is tool described by Esther Hicks in Ask and It is Given. I love using this one with clients. * Disclaimer; This blog entry is an attempt to explain what I do.
I am back working for myself, living in a new city and meeting new sets of people. Its been great. I first started coaching in 2009 and from what I have noticed, the coaching industry has grown exponentially. And I think its because more and more people are looking for a person outside of their situation who they can trust, who they can speak to without being judged and who can work with them to help get where they want to be. So you'd think that people would be familiar with what coaches do. Nope! I still get asked that question - What is it that you do as a coach? For me it's taken a while to narrow down on the areas that I love working on. Here's my attempt to put across to you, what I do and why I love it. "I am a seeker, always have been. Like many of us, my journey began with a desire to understand what makes us who we are, why are we here and what I am meant to do. I know each of us have something unique to offer and that each of us have our calling. My calling is working with people to uplift them from where they are, to their higher self. I am a certified Ashtang Yoga practitioner and my coaching is a mix of the philosophical wisdom from the Yoga Sutras and Law of Attraction. I love partnering with people to work in the areas of Self Love, Self Esteem, Finding and Understanding Spirituality. I believe these elements flow into everything we do. Growth and strength in these, will result as success, satisfaction and happiness in all areas of our lives. "I am dedicating this brief description to Jeannette Maw and Lisa Hayes. The inspiration to write the description came to me while I was listening to one of their session recordings from their Coaching Academy. To find work in an avenue that is your passion is desired. This is not a blog about that 'How to'.
This topic is perhaps the most common verbal and email exchanges I have with people. Maybe you have heard it in conversation with folks around you, or maybe you've felt it. There are countless blogs and books about how to find a job that you love. Sometimes this comes easy, others find it by being at the right place at the right time, while some others find it by doing the work, asking tough questions and taking the risk. For whatever its worth, my journey falls in the third category, and I know how frustrating it can be. But what do you do, if you have a job which is not your ideal? You don't know what is the ideal but all you know is, this isn't it. Life without purpose feels unfulfilled, empty and pointless. Since work is a big part of most of our lives, its natural that we identify our satisfaction and success with how we feel doing what we do. So naturally, when you aren't doing something that aligns with your passion and interest, its not going to feel right, no matter how successful you are. When life gives you lemons... you take the seeds and plant a lemon tree. (because you secretly want to farm) We must always work from the circle of our influence*, so even if you don't work your dream job, you must find ways to bring your purpose into your everyday activities. It is possible to meet the goals and metrics set out by your organization AND include little acts in your daily work that align with your passions.
It's one of my favorite things to coach on, working out different solutions using individual perspectives. Brainstorm with a friend and figure out, how best can you bring YOUR purpose to work. And when you find it, nothing beats the new found energy you have for your job. What is the one thing you can do differently? *Circle of Influence is a concept in 7 Habits of Highly Effective People In the tiny speck that is our world, the irony of our existence is that cosmically nothing matters. But, what we do daily matters, to the people and things affected by those action.
So while we can take comfort in the fact that everything we know, have and do, won’t be of significance in the coming future. We can be rest assured that our actions and thoughts are at the center of the overall experience of the universal consciousness. This is why, we must lift ourselves beyond our adversities and continue to act and experience life. It’s never too late, it’s never all gone and definitely never a futile effort. You are the center of the universe, you carry it within and you cause the ripple effect felt by all. Today, what will you do differently? Do you see yourself? I mean really see the person you are.
To achieve your goals and to be the best you can be, first you must know who you are. How much do you introspect? Do you dwell silently on the thoughts you have, do you listen to what is being said? Can you admit to your true nature? And does it move you to do better? Does it cause a sense of fear or shame? And is that a result of what others might think? Are you able to love yourself completely? Every part of you, every thought, every instinct and preference? Do you feel content and at peace with you? Just you. When you reach a point where you accept who you are, without judgement, is the point where you will see potential - in yourself, in others and the world. |
