Empty your basket - Moving house in the Vortex

16/12/2011

My husband and I have a beautiful home. Its cosy, quiet, well connected and has a great view. The house has excellent energy but somehow I suspect that the energy comes from us being there.

I rent - so its time for us to shift to a new place. Now, anybody who has moved houses knows the enormity of the situation. There are two big tasks - 1) House hunting 2) the Packing and Moving.

I was determined to make this a happy move and wanted to move in the Vortex. And honestly I wasn't quiet there yet.

To begin with, my husband and I set an intention that we would find a house that we would love, without having to compromise on budget, location and facilities.

We must have seen a total on 14 homes. The one we are moving into was the 4th house we saw and here is the full story.

I remember walking into the lobby of the building and my husband saying to me, I love the FEEL of this place, I love it. When we went into the apartment it was a different story, the current tenants were at home, the house felt heavy and dull. We left and continued our search.

Something kept tugging our attention back to that particular house. So we requested to see it again sans the tenants.

A few days later when we walked into that apartment, I could swear it was a different home. It felt bright, beautiful, cosy... promising. It was well connected yet in a quiet corner, fit our budget and timeline for our move.

Perfect!

What a difference it made without the other folks being there and I am glad we listened to that 'tug' and went back. I have no doubt that my husband and I will carry the same energy to our new found paradise!

Now I am more determined to pack and move in the Vortex. I look at packing the house as a chance to 'clean out' all the unnecessary things. I plan to leave behind 1/3rd of the stuff we currently have. Mostly clothes, kitchen stuff and other knick knacks that have collected over the years.

I already feel a sense of relief and lightness. I love the idea of 'emptying my basket' and that too in time for the New Year!  I know the Universe will send good things to fill the space I create now.

What a fun way to start the New Year!

Maybe you aren't moving houses but it's not a bad idea to do some 'emptying your basket' exercise. So join me 'virtually' to make space for new things to flow in.

Manifest the Perfect Appraisal Conversation

“Ruby! Stop day dreaming and focus!” – I can almost hear my teachers at school yell out loud.

For me,however, day dreaming was always a great way to focus. Focus on what I want, how it might look and feel, all the possibilities than can be and the chain of events to follow. Even at an early age, I knew day dreaming was my thing and it made me very happy and those days would be fabulous.

As the year draws to the close, I have been thinking a lot about how 2012 will pan out. And sure enough, I have had quite a few clients who are taking coaching sessions because they are worked up about the annual appraisals due at the beginning of 2012!

And even for folks who are self employed, this time might mean looking at what we have achieved in 2010 and planning for what we’d like to do in 2012.

For me pre-paving or as Abraham calls it, Segment Intending, is a great tool that can be used for this purpose.

The way I understand pre-paving as a process, is seeing something happen before it manifests in your reality. We are attracting into our experience every second, so by focusing on a particular event or situation, we can accurately create the reality that we’d like.

And for me day dreaming is the best way to pre-pave. Doing this as many times as possible during the day will, over time, make you a powerful deliberate creator.  (Wonder what my school teachers will say about this!)

The thing to remember here is that the Source does not care if you are vibrating from a place of reality or imagination. It simply delivers what you are vibrating. I got this quote from the learning’s from the movie The Secret:

" The law of attraction is impersonal it operates just like photocopying. What you are thinking and feeling in every moment and then sending an exact photocopy back to you which become your life. That makes your ability to change your entire world so very easy. To change the outside world all you have to do is change the way you think and feel and the law of attraction will photocopy the change."

So here’s how you can take creative control of your life and of that worrying Appraisal conversation with your boss:
  • Spending time dreaming about how the appraisal might pan out. As often as you can.
  • Imagine the conversation that you will have with your boss. Play it out!
  • Imagine how your boss will react. What kind of feedback and suggestions will be given?
  • Imagine a relaxed, friendly, collaborative and constructive appraisal interview.
  • See yourself happy and satisfied as you walk out.
I have been practicing appraisal conversations quiet a lot this month and it seems to put a lot of folks in a more relaxed place. And that’s a great place to be when you are manifesting abundance in your life!

Good Luck!

The Teacher v/s The Teachings

2/12/2011

Most of us fail to see the difference between the two - The Teacher & The Teachings.

I woke up to Jeannette Maw's Blog - Questions about Jerry & LOA and for those of you who didnt already know, Jerry Hicks has moved on from this life to the next.

I am a big fan of Law Of Attraction and the works of Abraham is what speaks to me, like it does to a lot of you. If you read Jeannette's blog, she has received quiet a few questions about why Jerry who was a expert, could not have manifested a different reality for himself ( as far as the illness is concerned).

A few years ago, when I stayed in an ashram in Kerala for my Yoga Teachers certification, my guru said to us, " Don't confuse the teacher with the teachings". She didn't expand of the subject but asked us to contemplate on the statement.

Its a simple statement which most often we forget. And I think this statement is applicable to the questions raised in case of Jerry.

The way I see it, The Teachings are the message, they show us possibilities. The Teacher is the vessel, they deliver the message.

Teachers can be great examples of the teachings and show individuals with lesser practice, how its done but they don't have to be. Sometimes they are not and sometimes they are, to a certain extent.

That is no way a reflection on the message of the Teachings. It only means that our Teachers are like us, a practicing human.

Think about Abraham's message via Jerry and Esther, it always talks about how each of us when connected with the Source, our true self, can achieve / create anything that we can dream of. Never once have I heard them claim that they can do it all.

The ultimate aim of Yoga and Hinduism, is union with Source, for all who are born into this physical world. All the great teachers, started out like an other being but had spiritual realizations at various stages of their lives. Some of them at a very early age and some much later, after a lot of seeking and asking questions.

So are we to hold their actions prior to their spiritual awakening against them? I know I wouldn't.

The passing of Jerry has certainly stirred the pot and initiated a lot of discussion. So how do you choose to see it?

Are you going to take a path of a victim with no control and dis-believe the potential that you have when aligned with the Source?

Or are you going to see these discussions as a way for more expansion and change in yourselves? And seeing Jerry as someone who started as just another human, who had the courage to ask the questions that bought more clarity in our lives?

We should be thankful for the many Teachers that come and go in our lives. They do what they are supposed to do, plant an idea of possibility. The teachings remain with us and its up to us to do our best with it.

I had fun bring my thoughts to you. Thank you for allowing me into your life.
